ETHNIC ATTIRE IN CONTEMPORARY FASHION
35mm Digital, Archival Pigment Prints
The beauty around his hometown of Sooradimangalam in Kancheepuram, was what inspired Panneer to make photographs. At the young age of 20, his first camera was a Nikon FM 10 film SLR, and what also interested him most was fashion and advertising. He consciously experimented with colour and b & w films, and went on to study visual communication in Chennai to pursue his passion of image making. Panneer also studied at NIFT, at the one year evening program of Fashion Design and clothes technology, which opened up the doors to fashion and advertising photography even wider for him. Panneer’s project is along the same lines, on the Ethnic Attire in Contemporary Fashion seen in Tiruvannamalai.
