IQBAL M KURESHI

M K Iqbal runs Studio Moon in Vaduthala in the Alappuzha District of Kerala. After completing a one-year diploma in photography and videography, he worked as a freelance photographer, getting published in different periodicals, apart from stints as a social activist and industrial photographer. Iqbal has contributed a series of visuals titled “Sufism in Temple Town.” There are a number of Sufi Dargahs in this ancient town. Sufism, a concept in Islam is defined by scholars as the inner, mystical dimension of Islam; others insist that it is a perennial philosophy of existence that pre-dates religion, the expression of which thrived within the Islamic religion. A practitioner of this tradition is generally known as a Sufi.
