We have made progress in pursuing one of our aims of archiving the works of contemporary photographers, by being able to gather, catalogue and preserve a large body of works of Abul Kalam Azad. We are also pleased to announce that a part of the archive is now accessible online, through our website. The archive is not a complete collection of Abul’s works, as many of his early images were lost in a fire accident, and some of the later prints and negatives are with news agencies and private collectors. Nevertheless, the collection is one that spans over 20,000 negatives, prints and valuable documents. We hope to expand the archive as much as possible, and look forward to support other photographers to archive and preserve their works as well. Currently, the Trust is in the process of archiving diapositives created by German photographer Ralph Steinmann.
